Vin Dor Mir : a Haitian - American short Horror series

QUICK NOTE: I've decided to start publishing my short stories or at least drafts of my short stories online. Similar to my other mediums of art, I'm beginning to acknowledge the fact that its better to release the art rather to keep it locked away in my secret chambers lol... heres a quick excerpt from a project I'm building. I am currently working on world building, crafting metaphors and foreshadowing for later episodes in this series. if you'd like to keep up with my progress on this series, please be sure to subscribe to my newsletter by clicking here to receive emails with new updates like a new post, merchandise or a community event being pulled together. if emails are less your thing and social media seems to be your preferred form of communication, please keep up via instagram by clicking here and following the Muse Village instagram page.

Thank you for your time :)

Vin Dor Mir : a Haitian - American Horror Series

Episode 1: Move in day

This episode follows a tragedy that occurs between our lead character named Jonas, the moving company and a haunted opera record.

Scene one:

Jonas’ eyes shift between the horizon of the empty road before him and the countdown of a GPS indicating how many minutes till he's late for what seems to be an appointment. With his left hand at a quarter till noon of his steering wheel and his right arm bent at the center console of his sports car wielding his phone rather than the other half of his wheel, multitasking under immense stress doesn't seem to bother him much.

After he hurriedly parks his car, Jonas takes 3 seconds to pull his mirror down using his right hand to check his face and hair to see if he should unbutton one or two from his shirt to play into a casual look. Jonas goes with two buttons, shuts his AC off, then his car and rushes into an office to meet a southern older blonde woman who greets him with a clipboard in hand. Time passes as they converse; he pulls out his wallet and types a series of characters into the computer laid out before the two of them, she stands and points towards different areas of the room.

A phone call, the movers have arrived.

With a brush of wind, a check has been exchanged for keys, the movers have appeared at the front door and Jonas has placed a record onto his distressed vintage record player.

As he's about to press play, the movers interrupt him asking for water. There is no water in the cold empty stainless steel refrigerator. Hesitantly Jonas decides to go out and purchase water for the movers; they've been working hard under immense heat to comfortably move he and his furniture into the new apartment.
